Northwest Toadlet

Uperoleia russelli

A small robust frog (to 3.5 cm) with large parotid and inguinal glands. The limbs are short and there is extensive webbing between the toes. The background colour ranges from light to reddish brown with scattered dark brown spots. There are orange blotches on the shoulders and rump, with a series of orange blotches on the sides.

Breeding

Breeds in shallow slow-moving water along creeks.

A short grating rasp.

Unknown.

Other Notes

Easily confused with the Glandular Toadlet, from which it can be distinguished by call and more extensive webbing between the toes.
