Join us in the Discovery Zone these school holidays to create craft, explore objects, read stories and play games as we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2018 and the diverse Aboriginal groups of Western Australia.

Celebrate NAIDOC Week 2018

Dates: Saturday 30 June – Sunday 15 July
Times: 10am - 2pm
Cost: Free
Age: All ages
Bookings: Essential for group bookings of 10 or more and vacation groups. Bookings can be made by calling 1300 134 081.

Create craft while learning about the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, learn and play games from WA Aboriginal groups, get hands-on at our touch table to explore some objects used for food preparation and share some stories written by female Aboriginal authors and illustrators from WA.

Make a Mural

Join our special guest artist and illustrator Kamsani Bin Salleh and contribute your creativity to a beautiful mural inspired by the animals in the Discovery Zone.

Kamsani’s illustrations reflect the natural world with intricate designs and striking black line work as can be seen in his debut children’s picture book At the Beach I see.

Kamsani is descended from the Nimunburr, Bunuba and Yawuru peoples of the Kimberley and the Ballardong Nyoongar people of the Perth region in WA.

 

          

 


All children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
